Overview Holes

A round of golf on the rolling hills near the city of Lucerne is an experience: The parkland course offers spectacular views of the mountains, and the diversity of the holes makes every shot a challenge.

A typical «Lucerne-Hole» to start with: After an enjoyable view from the tee correct tactic and precision is critical for the tee shot. With a slight draw over the «petrol cottage» one is in the perfect position for the second shot that requires good feeling for the right distance.

Brave hitters can attack the green with a high fade. For all others it is recommended to place the tee shot towards the fairway bunker, from where one has the perfect angle to attack the flag.

The wonderful view of the lake and mountains causes one to forget the game of golf for a moment. The green has two flat elevations, which makes reading the putting line even for professionals a challenge.

A forest strip bounds both sides of a fairway which leads steadily uphill to the well-defended double-green. By mid-June enjoy colourful flowers on the right side while playing the shot more to the left.

With a long and straight drive one can reach the «Sweden bell», where one leaves the town of Lucerne. With two great shots one is rewarded with a putt for eagle and introduction into the «Eagle Club».

After the first holes where precision is key to a low score, hole 6 offers a wide open landing area. The perfect drive is placed on the left side where one has a good view of the green.

The pond with the ducks and goldfish is more decorative than a real challenge. To hit the green will still take a precise shot and a recovery shot from the left is almost impossible.

After a stunning view of the lake and mountains, one needs a big drive to reach the upper plateau and to have a chance to make a par on this difficult hole.

One needs precision to hit the fairway between the forest on the left and the birch trees on the right. Except if the pin is placed short and right behind the bunker, this downhill hole can be a good birdie opportunity.

The shortest route leads over the lush meadow on the left side of the fairway. Since the terrain is not only uphill but also falls to the right, it takes a lot of experience to pick the correct club. Once you have reached the green, it is worth taking a look back at glorious Pilatus.

Only with a solid shot can one reach the longest par 3 hole on the course. A little miss to the left can hope for a member’s bounce during the summer. The putting on this green with 3 plateaux can be a challenge.

In the 1930s, the longest par 5 in Europe, nowadays needs more precision than power. One has to avoid the trees on the left with the tee shot and the pond on the right with the second.

A fairly simple hole for a bogey golfer as the ball rolls to the middle of the fairway from both sides. The well-defended green, which drops to the left, can make the approach shot and putting difficult.

One will feel the nerves on this tee box as the narrow fairway is lined with forest on the left and right. There are no additional hazards on the uphill Par 5.

The view from the tee box is beautiful over the trees to the pond short of the green and the farmhouse to the left. A hole to enjoy!

If one can hit a slight fade around the big tree on the right, one has a good chance to make a par. Otherwise there is still the beautiful view of the Rigi from the green.

For the ones who still have a chance for a good result, this hole will test the nerves. The elevated green is surrounded be trees. Not a long shot but precision is needed to hit the green.

The last hole is a beauty. After a good drive you can enjoy a stunning view of the lake and Alps. The approach shot is a bit complicated because of the downhill lie but one will be rewarded with a drink in the clubhouse which is located behind the green.
